More than thirty people attending to the conference on Orkney fascinating archaeology. Anne Dietrich even proposed a small
dish to everyone to taste what Bronze Age people were to eat on this far away archipelago: fish of course, cooked bere
(ancestor of barley) and sloe. A delight !

28 October: Conference « Whiskies stories: misbehaviour, prohibition and smuggling » by Pierre Delignière
About thirty people enjoyed the whisky conference by Pierre Delignière, and tried afterwards a wee dram of different single malts
from Jura, Skye, the Highlands and Speyside.

Scottish day at Vern Sur Seiche Care Home
While « Traditional Scottish tales and Songs » by bard Patrik Ewen and Alix Quoniam were taking place at Plouhinec, west
of Brittany, on the east side was held a « Scottish day » at Vern Sur Seiche, organised by staff Bastien Vieuville, with
some little help from Brittany-Scotland association (photos and legends on Scotland’s landscapes, castles, Highland Games,

30 September: « Tales and songs of traditional Scotland », told by Patrik Ewen, with Alix Quoniam.
July 2022 :
10 july: the association participes to the 30th anniversary of partner bookshop, Ar Vro at Audierne. Its owner Bruno Le Breton,
will receive the medal of the « institut Culturel de Bretagne » in September.
May 2022 :
20 May: Professor Patrick Galliou propose an excellent talk on « Rome et l’impossible conquête de l’Ecosse ».
Same title as his book on Scotland, eventually conquered by no one !
April 2022 :
2 April: second Burns’ Supper of the association, after success of the first in 2020 (see activities 2020). From now on,
the association will celebrate Robert Burns once every two years. However, Pierre Delignière is preparing a conference on the
great Scottish poet on his life and poetry for 2023.
March 2022 :
25 March: From tectonics to the ice ages, Pierre Delignière explains how spectacular scottish landscapes, its glens, its lochs,
its great faults, its cathedrals of basalt, its jagged coast, its isles-ancient volcanoes, its eroded mountains of gneiss, gabbro
and granite, owe so much to geology.

In the year 122 (onwards) was built Hadrien's Wall, "disjoining" (were they really joined before?) Scotland from England, separating "Barbarians" from Roman "Civilization"...
